Happy New year everybody! This week back in Mrs. Anderle's class was quite an experience. Mrs Anderle's math class started algebra, and we started our energy science unit. We did various experiments to look at different types of energy. We even mapped the energy transfers in lots of toys. In reading, we started the novel "The Liberation of Gabriel King." We also learned about fiction texts. We're finishing up Personalized Learning next week!

This week in social studies, we researched our American Revolution topics. We met with tavern groups and reflected on our notes and questions. Some students even began working on their final projects.

During reading this week, we did some poetry with our partners, we worked on the main idea with nonfiction books, and started our daily signposts log.

During writing this week we started typing our personal narrative essays with a story we had previously written earlier in the year. Then after we finished our first moment, we added a second moment to go along with it.

Here's to another great week in Mrs. Anderle's Class! This week included many exciting experiences, including science and math experiments, fun reading activities, and so much more! Let's dive in!

In science class, we collected information about our heart rate per minute. We then made awesome graphs to display our results!

Today we were assigned our first reading log! Can't wait to get reading!

Among the Hidden is not your average read aloud. This exciting book is keeping our class on their feet! Learning about these characters and looking for signposts is so much fun!

As the day was coming to a close, we ended off on a great note: a science experiment! Today we learned about the digestive system, and how our bodies need food as nutrients!

We had a fun time in Roald Dahl, and here's a picture of one of our presentations from the BFG group.

We also had a music for youth concert, when Gianna and Sophie, in our grade performed.

We learned how our muscles get tired when we put pressure on them. We used a clothes pin and we squeezed it for 30 seconds and only got 15 second breaks. We had to do that 10 times. We graphed our data, too.
