WOW, what a week! Our Zoom Halloween Party, Reading MAP Tests, and a Presidential Election! I hope you all enjoyed your extra long weekend! Thanks again to Mrs. Rose, Mrs. Corbett, and our other volunteers for their help in making our class Halloween party such a success! The kids and I had a wonderful time!!!
HERE'S WHAT HAPPENED LAST WEEK💡
MATH:
Last week in math we wrapped up our division practice. Students spent the week solving 2, 3, and 4 digit by 2 digit division problems. We also had time to squeeze in some Division Bingo fun, and a Halloween Math Mystery!
READING WORKSHOP:
Our Launching unit came to an end last week as we finished the last of our mini-lessons. Students reviewed reading log data and reflected on their reading habits. We also practiced unpacking poetry and set new reading goals.
WRITERS' WORKSHOP:
Our writers were busy editing their final drafts last week! Students proofread for spelling, punctuation, and capitalization. They also met with a peer, one last time, for feedback.
SOCIAL STUDIES:
Our Colonial unit continued last week! Students began sharing their colony research projects, and we all enjoyed learning about the colonial regions. We also took an in depth look at the origin, geography, economy, and government of six colonies in the New England, Middle, and Southern regions.
